Terms, rewards & privacy
These terms govern entry to the Goldrush Creators Hub. By submitting content you accept them.
1Who can enter
You may enter if you are 18 years or older.
- Entry is open to South African residents aged 18 or older.
- Goldrush employees and contractors, the agencies working on the Creators Hub, and the immediate families of any of them may not enter.
- You need a South African mobile number to submit, and a South African bank account in your own name to be paid.
You may enter as many times as you like, and each submission is judged on its own. Re-uploading a file you have already sent us is not a new entry — see section 3.
2Your content
When you submit, you confirm that:
- The content is your own original work — your footage, your images, your audio, your joke.
- You own it or have full rights to it, and submitting it does not breach anyone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights.
- Anyone identifiable in it has agreed to appear and to their appearance being used as described here.
- It is not hateful, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory or unlawful, and does not target or feature anyone under 18.
You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it, you grant Goldrush a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, edit, adapt and publish it — including on social media, in advertising and in marketing — with or without attribution, and with no time limit.
We will decline content that:
- isn't your own original work — someone else's meme, clip, music or footage
- features an identifiable person who plainly hasn't agreed to appear
- is hateful, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory or unlawful
- features or targets anyone under 18
- uses another brand's logos, characters, music or footage in a way Goldrush cannot publish
- has little or nothing to do with Goldrush
- duplicates a submission we have already received
Goldrush may decline or remove any submission at its sole discretion, and may add Goldrush branding or a watermark before publishing.
3What you can upload
One image or one video per submission. The form checks these limits in your browser before anything is uploaded, so a file outside them never reaches the review queue.
- Images — JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 15 MB.
- Video — MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 200 MB and 60 seconds long.
We store a fingerprint of every file, so re-uploading an identical one is flagged as a duplicate. A duplicate does not count as a separate entry.
4How we review, and what you hear back
You get a confirmation email as soon as your submission reaches us. Every submission is then reviewed by the Goldrush team and lands on one of three outcomes, each of which we email you about:
- Approved — your content has been selected for use on Goldrush's own channels, and the reward in section 5 applies.
- On hold — shortlisted, but not committed to. It may later be approved or declined, and being on hold is not a promise of either.
- Declined — not going forward, for one of the reasons in section 2. You are welcome to submit something else.
Our emails come from creators@mygoldrush.co.za — worth adding to your safe senders so a decision does not sit unread in a spam folder.
We aim to review every submission within 14 days. That is a target rather than a guarantee — volume around a campaign launch can stretch it.
5The rewards
R10,000
If your content is selected
“Selected” means Goldrush chooses your submission for use on its own channels and marks it Approved. Selection is entirely at Goldrush's discretion.
R100,000
Additional, if it then reaches 1 000 000 views
Measured on the post Goldrush publishes from its own social media accounts. Paid on top of the R10,000, not instead of it.
The two rewards stack. Only content Goldrush has selected gets posted from its accounts, so the milestone is reached through selection rather than alongside it: if we pick your content you get R10,000, and if the post we publish then reaches 1 000 000 views you get a further R100,000 on top.
Views must be genuine. Only real views by real people count. Where Goldrush has reason to believe views have been inflated by artificial means — bots, automated or scripted traffic, purchased views, click farms, view-exchange services or engagement pods — the submission will not be considered for the R100,000 milestone, and any reward not yet paid may be withheld. Where a reward has already been paid, Goldrush may reclaim it.
Driving artificial traffic to a post disqualifies it. This covers any attempt to push traffic or engagement to a post by automated means — bot traffic, traffic-generation or auto-refresh services, referral or redirect bots, and bought likes, shares, comments or follows used to widen the post's reach. It applies even where the views that follow come from real people, because it was artificial activity that put the post in front of them. A submission Goldrush believes has been promoted this way is disqualified from both rewards, not only the view milestone.
This applies however the inflation happened, including where it was done by someone else on your behalf or without your knowledge. Goldrush may ask the platform for its own figures, and may ask you for access to your post analytics, before confirming a milestone. Goldrush's assessment of whether the views and the traffic behind them are genuine is final.
How views are counted.
- Selected content is posted from Goldrush's own accounts on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and X, and the milestone is measured on those posts. Views on your own accounts do not count, wherever else you share it.
- A single post has to reach 1 000 000 views on its own. Views are not added together across platforms, or across more than one post.
- For each post, the figure is the view count that platform publicly displays. Where platforms disagree or a figure is disputed, the count recorded by Goldrush is the one that applies.
- The count runs for 90 days from the date Goldrush publishes the content, and is final at the end of that period.
- Views from paid or boosted promotion do not count, and neither do views on re-posts of the same content.
6Getting paid
- Rewards are paid by EFT into a South African bank account in your own name. We cannot pay into someone else's account.
- Payment is made within 30 days of Goldrush confirming the reward and receiving all of your verification documents.
- South African law requires us to verify your identity (FICA) before paying out. You will be asked for a copy of your South African ID, confirmation of your bank account in your own name, and proof of your residential address.
- You have 60 days from the date we notify you to claim a reward and send those documents. After that the reward lapses.
Any tax arising from a reward is your responsibility. Rewards are not transferable and cannot be exchanged.
7Goldrush's discretion
Goldrush may decline any submission, withhold a reward where these terms have been breached, and amend or end the Creators Hub at any time. Where these terms are amended, the version published on this page applies. Goldrush's decision on selection and on view counts is final.
8Privacy notice (POPIA)
What we collect. Your first name, surname, email address and mobile number, the content you upload, and the time you submitted it. We also keep technical details of the file — its type, size, duration and a cryptographic fingerprint used to spot duplicate uploads — and a record of the confirmations you gave when submitting (that you are 18 or older, that the content is yours, and that you accepted these terms), along with when you gave them.
Why we collect it. To review your entry, to contact you about it, to publish selected content, and to verify your identity and pay you if you win. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing unless you separately opt in.
Who sees it. The Goldrush review team, and the providers that process it on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and file storage), Neon (database) and SendGrid (email).
Where it is stored. Our hosting, database and email providers operate outside South Africa, so your information is transferred to and stored in other countries. We only use providers bound by written agreements requiring them to protect your information to a standard comparable to POPIA, and we send them only what is needed to run the Creators Hub. By submitting, you agree to that transfer.
How long we keep it. We keep submissions and contact details for 24 months after the Creators Hub closes, so that we can deal with queries and disputes. Identity and payment records are kept for five years, because FICA requires it. After that we delete them.
Your rights. You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email help@goldrushgroup.co.za and we will respond. Deleting your information means withdrawing any entry that has not yet been paid out.
